Remember Wesley Crusher?

Apparently the annoying son of Beverly Crusher from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" has been floating along and making a name for himself as an author. I just came across an ad for a book called Just a Geek published by O'Reilly. Since the days of his time on the Starship Enterprise Wil Wheaton has been maintaining his blog and generally stirring up trouble. The book also talks about how he got interested in HTML, Linux and other techie interests. I find this guy to be oddly interesting so I just added his blog to my subscription list at Bloglines.com. I will think about purchasing the book.

Perhaps what I would like to see most is some sort of 2 part episode where his character Wesley Crusher comes back for a while and shows what he has been up to. Wesley left with "the traveler", a strange person who could travel across time and space and Wesley developed the ability to do that so they have been backpacking the galaxy for about a decade now. What have they been doing? I wonder if they have been to any good parties lately? And what kinds of parties could they be going to if they could go anywhere at any time? And would Wesley date anyone seriously while doing all of this traveling. That one episode he fell for a woman who ended up being an ugly shape shifter. The classic boy meets girl, falls for girl and girl turns out to be a slimy shape shifting alien who's parents do not want him to date outside the species. Poor Crusher could never catch a break. (lame episode)

And then there is the little relationship that Captain Picard had with his mother even though Picard ordered her husband on a mission which lead to his death. Drama just follows Wesley. They could just have a Star Trek spinoff called "ST: What the F*@&" and it would be based on what messes Wesley is getting into.

And I wonder if he ever got into any scrapes with Q. They seem to have similar abilities and I always thought that the Q were not as advanced as they wanted everyone to believe. They may have been using smoke and mirrors to appear to have God-like abilities.

I should stop right here. Theorizing about what these characters may be up to and doing socially seems to be exceeding my own tolerance for what is too Geeky.

Ha! That theoretical show of the messes Wesley could get into would be great. It could be made by the same people who are currently driving the Star Trek franchise into the ground. Except this one would be intentionally funny.

Wow, at least I'm not the only sad geek in this world with a blog...
Can't believe who and what you find on the net these days. Well, at least he's kinda funny :)
