I saw a new website called Displaced Designer which is seeking open desks for designers who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The concept is very simple. If you have spare desk and possibly a computer a designer could use, you can offer that space. And if you are a designer looking for a desk, you can find one on that site.

The company I work for, SpiderLogic, has a pipeline of work which needs to be done and we have the workstations ready. So we would like to see if we can somehow find some of these Displaced Developers and see if we can offer them some work. Please post a comment here to get started.
