Deauthorize All Computers for iTunes

May 15th, 2006

After a little digging I learned how to deauthorize all computers for iTunes.  Apparently this option only appears within the Apple Music Store once you have used up all 5 authorizations.  And once you do it, you cannot do it again for a year.  It also explains that you should deauthorize your computer prior to updating any components, like adding more memory, as it would act like a new computer and use up an additional authorization.

It does not appear that my iPods count as computers.  It is not clear if they still take up one of my 5 authorization slots.  That will be a question I put to the guy at the Genius Bar at the Apple store.
