Fear of Innovation
May 31st, 2006A lot has changed in software development over the last 15 years. The innovation with hardware and software has yielded some amazing breakthroughs which have really impacted how people live and interact with eachother. From the Internet to advanced cell phone technology it is becoming harder and harder to imagine living without all of it. And keeping up with these innovations can be a challenge.
But the innovations we have seen in IT are virtually nothing compared to the innovations I am now seeing in men's shaving. When a revolutionary technology and a unique idea come together to create the new Gillette Fusion. Until now pressure caused irritation. Fusion has 5 blades spaced closer together to reduce pressure with less irritation and more comfort. Flip Fusion over for a pression trimmer for those tricky places. It comes in manual or battery powered. (see the video yourself)
When faced with such innovation I feel so small. Such revolutionary ideas in shaving threaten to steal the thunder from innovations in other industries such as medical science and space exploration. I commend Gillette for their highly secret work carried out in a bunker in the middle of some unnamed dessert. I can only hope their great strides will inspire others to realize their dreams.
