You Gotta Listen to the Polymorphic Podcast
August 23rd, 2006Through my casual browsing of various podcasts listed in iTunes I came across The Polymorphic Podcast. It has great production quality as well as a very good host. He gets right to the point and then runs a useful interview with many of the best developers out there. The latest show is with Miguel Castro who has been popping up frequently lately in places like Code Magazine, DotNetRocks and dnrTV. He apparently has a lot to say and I learn so much each time I read his articles or listen to interviews with him. But enough about Miguel Castro.
You gotta listen to the Polymorphic Podcast. Unfortunately it only comes out once a month, but the show is worthwhile. For some reason it is a member of the Tech Podcast Network which includes several other podcasts. But frankly, none of the other podcasts listed on this network are nearly as good as this one. But that is true for most podcasts.
Another show which is not a member of the Tech Podcast Network that at times shows promise, but generally wastes a lot of time is The ASP.NET Podcast by Wally McClure. One tip I would give to him and most podcast hosts, do not spend the first 5 minutes of the show discussing with yourself when you think you will be able to publish the show! If I am listening to it, you have already published it. Get to the point. And if you do not have the time or energy to put into preparing a show, then do not do the show.
Perhaps I should start a podcast using the production qualities of the shows I feel work well and avoid the things which do not. I just got a new microphone which works well, so look out for what I unleash in the coming weeks.
